Apple Podcasts is getting two major updates that will make it easier for listeners to navigate and engage with shows.

The app will soon include automatically generated chapters for English-language podcasts and allow creators to add links at specific timestamps.

The new timed links feature lets creators include clickable references to Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Podcasts, Apple TV, and more—showing up exactly when they’re mentioned in the episode. These links will appear as banners in the Now Playing screen and will also be visible in the transcript and episode details page.

Auto-generated chapters will be created when podcast creators don’t add their own. These chapters will help listeners skip to specific segments or topics within an episode. Apple says the automatically created chapters will be clearly labeled as such above the episode’s chapter list.

Creators can choose to opt out of both features if they prefer full manual control. Interestingly, Spotify introduced a similar auto-chapter feature earlier this year, showing how the big podcast platforms are racing to make listening more interactive.

Both features are set to roll out with iOS 26.2, which is currently in developer beta testing.
