Apple on Wednesday introduced the MacBook Neo, a new laptop featuring a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, long battery life, and the A18 Pro chip designed to handle on-device AI tasks such as applying advanced photo effects.
The MacBook Neo comes with a durable aluminium body and is available in four colours, including blush, indigo, silver and a new citrus shade. Apple said the device is lightweight and portable, weighing just 2.7 pounds, making it easy to carry in a backpack or handbag.
The laptop offers up to 16 hours of battery life, allowing users to work or watch content throughout the day on a single charge. It also includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and dual microphones that help deliver clear video calls and improved voice quality.
For audio, the MacBook Neo has dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio that provide clear and immersive sound while watching videos or listening to music.
Apple has also added its Magic Keyboard for comfortable typing, along with a large Multi-Touch trackpad that supports intuitive gestures for smooth and precise control.
The 13-inch Liquid Retina display delivers a resolution of 2408 by 1506 with 500 nits brightness and support for one billion colours. This allows the screen to display sharp text and vibrant images.
The laptop is powered by the A18 Pro chip, which Apple says can handle everyday tasks such as web browsing, document creation, streaming content and photo editing while also supporting AI-powered features.
MacBook Neo includes two USB-C ports that can be used for charging or connecting accessories and external displays.
Customers can pre order the MacBook Neo starting today in 30 countries and regions, including the United States. The laptop will start arriving to customers and appear in Apple Store locations and authorised resellers from March 11.
