Apple is adding a new feature to Safari called “Distraction Control,” allowing users to remove distracting elements like cookie preference pop-ups while browsing.
This feature is available in the fifth developer betas of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, which were launched on Monday.
According to a video from MacRumors, Distraction Control can be accessed from a menu where users can select “Hide Distracting Items” and choose specific elements to hide on the page. Hidden items dissipate with a smooth animation.
Apple notes that this feature will not permanently remove ads and other frequently updated content, and hidden parts of a website do not sync across devices.
