Apple is making a small but useful change to its Family Sharing feature.
Right now, when people use Family Sharing, all purchases are charged to the family organizer’s payment method, even if other members are making the purchases.
That is set to change with the upcoming iOS 26.4 update. Apple will allow adult members in a Family Sharing group to use their own payment methods instead of relying on the organizer’s account.
Family Sharing currently allows up to six people to share apps, subscriptions, and other Apple services. While it has been convenient, the single payment system has often been a limitation, especially for families or groups who want more control over their spending.
With this update, adult users will have more flexibility and independence when making purchases. This change is expected to make Family Sharing more practical and easier to manage for many users.
