Apple has officially expanded the hearing aid functionality of the AirPods Pro 2 to additional countries, enabling the wireless earbuds to serve as assistive hearing devices in more parts of the world.

CEO Tim Cook announced that the feature, which enhances the hearing experience for users with mild to moderate hearing loss, is now available in regions including Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Vietnam. This rollout is part of Apple’s broader health-focused initiatives, which also include the expansion of sleep apnea detection via the Apple Watch.

The AirPods Pro 2 utilize adaptive audio and personalized sound amplification to help users more accurately perceive sounds in their environment.
