Anthropic has extended free access to its Claude Fable 5 model for paid subscribers, giving users another week to use the company’s most powerful AI model without spending usage credits.
The promotion was originally scheduled to end on July 7 for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and premium Enterprise subscribers before Anthropic extended it to July 12. Now, just before that deadline, the company has announced another extension, allowing eligible users to continue using Claude Fable 5 until July 19, 2026, at 11:59:59 PM PT.
According to Anthropic’s updated support documentation, the temporary offer also includes the previously announced 50% increase to Claude Code’s weekly usage limits, which will remain available through the same date.
During the promotion, paid subscribers can use Claude Fable 5 for up to 50% of their weekly subscription allowance at no additional cost. There is no activation process, as the model automatically shares the same weekly usage pool as other Claude models. However, Anthropic notes that Fable 5 consumes weekly usage limits more quickly than its standard models.
The extended offer is available to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and premium seats on seat-based Enterprise plans where the feature has been enabled by the organization. Users can access Fable 5 through Claude on the web, mobile, desktop, Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Claude Design, Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude for Teams, and Claude Tag.
On the web, desktop, and mobile apps, users can choose Fable 5 directly from the model selector. Claude Code requires version 2.1.170 or later, while Claude Cowork requires the latest version of the Claude Desktop application.
After reaching the 50% weekly Fable 5 allowance, users can either purchase separate usage credits to continue using the model or switch to another Claude model and continue working within their remaining subscription limits.
Anthropic says the promotion does not apply to Free users, standard seats on seat-based Enterprise plans, usage-based Enterprise plans, or API customers. The company has also indicated that Claude Fable 5 is expected to return to regular subscription access in the future once additional computing capacity becomes available.
