Amazon Prime Video is rolling out a new vertical video feed called “Clips,” joining Netflix and Disney+ in bringing short-form content discovery to streaming apps.
The feature offers users a stream of short videos from movies and TV shows available on Prime Video, making it easier to quickly find something to watch.
Users can access the new feed by scrolling to the Clips carousel on the Prime Video app homepage. From there, they can swipe through short scenes and previews pulled from titles available on the platform. If something catches their attention, they can jump straight into the full movie or series, or choose to rent or buy the title if needed.
Prime Video had previously experimented with a TikTok-style feed focused on NBA highlights, but the new Clips experience expands the format to include content from across its entertainment library. According to Amazon, the feed will refresh regularly and show personalized recommendations based on each user’s viewing history.
The Clips feature also lets users add titles directly to their watchlist and share clips through text messages, email, or social media. Anyone receiving a shared clip will need the Prime Video app to watch it.
Amazon says Clips is currently rolling out to select users in the United States on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets, with a wider launch planned for later this summer.
