Spotify is rolling out a brand-new feature for Premium subscribers that lets users create more professional, personalized playlists with custom track transitions.
The new Mix option allows you to either automatically add transitions between songs or customize them with preset styles like fade, rise, or blend.
Users can go even deeper, tweaking volume, EQ, and effects, and using waveform and beat data to choose the perfect transition points. To make it easier, Spotify will automatically show each track’s key and BPM, helping even beginners mix like a DJ.
Once finished, subscribers can save, share, or even collaborate on mixed playlists with friends. The mixes can also be toggled on or off anytime, giving listeners flexibility for parties, workouts, or casual listening.
This launch puts Spotify head-to-head with Apple Music’s upcoming AutoMix feature (currently in iOS 26 beta), expanding the battle for music lovers who want more control over their listening experience.
The feature is available starting today for most Premium users worldwide (with some APAC regions coming later), rolling out via the latest iOS app update.
