Amazon has laid off around 100 employees from the teams behind Alexa, Echo, and Zoox, as part of what it calls a “regular business review.”
The job cuts were confirmed by Amazon’s devices and services group and reported by Reuters.
This move is part of a broader trend for Amazon, which has now cut approximately 27,000 jobs since the beginning of 2022.
Previous rounds of layoffs also impacted the Alexa and devices teams in both 2022 and 2023, as noted by CNBC.
