YouTube is creating a $100 million fund to pay people who make clips for Shorts.
The $100 million funds will launch in the “coming months” and be paid out over the course of this year and next, YouTube said in a blog post.
“We are actively working on this and will take the feedback gathered from our community to help develop a long-term program specifically designed for YouTube Shorts,” it added.
The Shorts Fund is not limited to just creators in the YouTube Partner Programme. Creators will be eligible to participate if they create original content for Shorts and adhere to YouTube’s Community Guidelines.
