YouTube has officially launched a native app for Apple Vision Pro, ending a long wait that lasted more than two years.

The new app is now available on visionOS, allowing users to watch standard videos, Shorts, as well as immersive formats like 3D, 360-degree, and VR180 content.

When the Vision Pro first launched in early 2024, it surprisingly did not include an official YouTube app. At the time, Google said it had no plans to build a native version. However, just days after the headset went on sale, YouTube reversed its decision and confirmed that a Vision Pro app was “on the roadmap.”

That roadmap has finally reached its destination. According to Apple, the new YouTube app is designed specifically for visionOS and supports the platform’s full video library, including immersive video experiences that take advantage of the headset’s spatial capabilities.

Before this official release, Vision Pro users relied on third-party solutions like Juno, an unofficial YouTube app created by developer Christian Selig. Apple removed Juno from the App Store in October 2024, leaving users without a proper YouTube experience — until now.

With this launch, one of the biggest content gaps on the Vision Pro has been filled, making Apple’s mixed-reality headset more complete for everyday media consumption.
