Twitch has announced that it’s launching support for any 2FA authentication apps. The streaming service even entices you with six exclusive emotes.
📢 It's time to armor up! We're launching support for generic authentication apps for 2FA!
You can now use the app or password manager of your choice to keep your account secure, and you'll get 6 exclusive emotes – just for enabling 2FA!

Twitch offers two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account from unauthorized logins. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) means two different methods of verification will be required to log in to your Twitch account: your password and your mobile phone. If your password is compromised, your account will be inaccessible without the unique code sent to your phone.
As soon as you’ve got 2FA set up, you’ll find the six “exclusive emotes” visible in the tweet above in the Unlocked section of the chat. It’s great to see that Twitch is finally stepping up its security game — general 2FA support is much more convenient than Authy or SMS only.
