TP-Link has opened international preorders for its first Wi-Fi 8 router, even though the Wi-Fi 8 standard is not expected to be finalized until 2028.
The company’s Archer 8 Ultra tri-band router, which was announced earlier, is now available for preorder in select international markets. Pricing starts at around $907 (€799.90) in Germany and reaches approximately $1,190 (£899.99) in the UK, although preorder discounts are currently available.
The Archer 8 Ultra is arriving well ahead of the finalized Wi-Fi 8 specification, giving early adopters a chance to purchase hardware based on the emerging wireless standard.
US availability remains uncertain. Pingji Li, president of TP-Link’s Home Networking Business Unit, said the company is working with regulators to bring its products to users worldwide and advised customers to watch TP-Link’s website for further updates.
