Spotify is rolling out a new feature that gives listeners more control over their music recommendations. Starting today, free and Premium users worldwide can exclude individual tracks from their “Taste Profile” across the platform’s web, desktop, and mobile apps.
The Taste Profile powers Spotify’s personalization features, influencing everything from daily recommendations to Wrapped and Blend playlists. While users could already exclude playlists, the new option allows for finer control at the song level—helping to prevent one-off listens or unwanted earworms from shaping future suggestions.
“Excluding a track will lessen the impact of both past and future streams of that song on your recommendations, so your ‘just for the moment’ listening doesn’t end up skewing your Spotify experience,” the company explained.
To use the feature, select a song or playlist, tap the three-dot menu, and choose “Exclude from your Taste Profile.”
