Snapchat announced on Monday that it has begun rolling out its end-of-year 2025 Snap Recap, giving users a personalized look back at their activity over the past year.

The Recap appears as a short video highlighting moments from Snaps, Stories, and Chats, showing how users connected and expressed themselves throughout 2025. Users can find it by opening the app and heading to Memories, where a “Your 2025 Snap Recap” card is displayed.

Alongside the rollout, Snapchat shared usage statistics from 2025. The company said users spent nearly 1.7 billion minutes per day on voice calls, an increase of almost 30% year over year. In the U.S. alone, users sent more than five billion voice notes, up nearly 10% from last year.

Group chats continue to be a key feature on the platform. Snapchat reported a 5% increase in group chat messaging, with some users sending more than 8,880 messages to their most active group chat this year.

Engagement with chat features also grew significantly. Chat Reactions increased by 44%, with the heart emoji emerging as the most used. Additionally, three million more users used stickers to communicate in 2025.

The release of the 2025 Snap Recap comes amid user backlash over Snapchat’s upcoming paid Memories storage plans. The company announced in September that free Memories storage will be capped at 5GB starting next year. Users who exceed the limit will need to subscribe to a storage plan.
