Snapchat’s popular Snap Map has reached a big milestone — more than 400 million people use it every month.
The feature, launched in 2017, lets users see their friends’ locations and explore public snaps from around the world. Over the years, it has become a key part of the app.
Snap has also added new tools like Footsteps, which shows where you’ve traveled, and Promoted Places, which lets businesses advertise their locations.
Snapchat says Snap Map is now one of the most-used mobile maps in the world. Instagram is working on a similar feature called “Friend Map,” but Snapchat still leads in this area for now.
“Snap Map is helping hundreds of millions connect with friends and their favorite places,” said Ceci Mourkogiannis, VP of Product at Snap.
