After experiencing a major outage that left millions of users around the world unable to access the platform, Reddit has successfully restored services.

The outage appears to have been widespread, with around 50,000 user reports of issues on Downdetector.

Reddit confirmed there was an issue in a post at 12:47 PM ET. “We’re investigating an issue that’s left many of our web and mobile platforms unavailable,” the company wrote on its status website. “Responders are working to restore service.” At 1:22 PM ET, the company said that it had “identified the issue and we’re bringing services back online.”

At 2:17 PM ET, Reddit said that things were largely fixed. “We’ve restored services to users and will be taking steps to ensure a full, sustained recovery.”

The social discussion platform Reddit has faced two significant outages in 2023.

June 2023 Outage:

August 2023 Outage:

A more significant outage struck Reddit in August 2023, impacting users globally. This incident lasted for several hours, preventing users from accessing various platform features, including posting content, commenting on threads, and browsing subreddits. Reddit again communicated openly, updating users on the situation through its official channels and actively working towards a solution.
