OpenAI has canceled a planned reduction to ChatGPT Pro 200’s Work and Codex usage allowance and increased the included limits across its Pro tiers. The change took effect October 29, following concerns from subscribers about a previously announced cut.

In its updated release notes, OpenAI said Pro 100 and Pro 500 subscribers now receive twice their previous Work and Codex allowance. Pro 200 customers who already had the higher allowance will keep it, while subscribers who were on the lower allowance now receive twice as much, bringing them to the same limit.

The update applies specifically to Work and Codex usage. OpenAI’s announcement does not say that all ChatGPT message limits, model caps or other plan allowances have doubled. Business Premium users are also included in the increased Work and Codex allowance.

The reversal follows a September 29 email that announced a reduction for Pro 200. OpenAI’s release notes now say that reduction has been canceled. The change comes as subscribers continue to track adjustments to ChatGPT usage limits and the amount of work they can complete with the service’s coding and agent tools.
