OpenAI has expanded its affordable ChatGPT Go plan to Nepal and 15 other Asian countries, making it easier for users in the region to access advanced AI tools at a low cost.

The ChatGPT Go plan costs under $5 and is now available in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, and Vietnam.

In some countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Pakistan, users can pay in their local currency, while in others, including Nepal, the payment is made in US dollars, with the final price depending on local taxes.

The ChatGPT Go plan offers more benefits than the free version, such as higher daily message limits, more image generation and uploads, and twice as much memory, allowing the chatbot to remember user preferences better. OpenAI says the decision to expand came after seeing strong growth in Asia, with weekly active users in Southeast Asia increasing up to four times.

The plan was first launched in India in August and later in Indonesia, where the number of paying users has already doubled.
