Microsoft is bringing passkey support to its Edge browser, making it easier for users to move away from traditional passwords.

With this update, Edge users can now store and manage their passkeys using the Microsoft Password Manager.

The new feature allows passkeys to be securely backed up to a Microsoft account and synced across multiple devices, giving users a seamless sign-in experience. Currently, the feature is available only for Windows users, but Microsoft says it plans to expand passkey support to other platforms soon.

Passkeys are designed to offer a more secure and convenient alternative to passwords by using cryptographic keys instead of text-based credentials. This move aligns with Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to promote a passwordless future across its ecosystem.
