Meta has started rolling out Incognito Chat with Meta AI on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app, offering users a more private way to interact with AI.

The company says the new feature is designed for conversations that users do not want stored or accessible later. Similar to how end-to-end encryption protects WhatsApp messages, Incognito Chat is built so that no one, including Meta or WhatsApp, can read the conversations.

According to Meta, Incognito Chat processes AI requests inside a Trusted Execution Environment, which helps keep user messages inaccessible to the company. The company also says conversations disappear from the phone once the session is closed.

Meta claims this approach is different from other disappearing AI chat features, where conversation logs may still remain on company servers for months.

The feature is being positioned as part of Meta’s broader push toward personal AI, giving users a way to ask sensitive questions or discuss private topics without leaving a stored record behind.
