Google Photos has finally fixed a frustrating bug that prevented users from selecting multiple photos and videos by dragging their finger across them.
Several Google Photos users recently reported the issue on Reddit. Normally, users can long-press a photo and then drag their finger across other photos and videos to quickly select multiple items. But because of the bug, dragging after long-pressing would simply scroll the screen instead of selecting the photos.
The problem appeared to affect Google Pixel devices along with some Samsung and OnePlus phones. While users could still select multiple items by tapping each photo individually, doing so was much slower and more frustrating than using the drag-to-select feature.
Google later confirmed that it was working on a fix, and the company has now rolled out an update that restores the functionality. Users can update Google Photos through the Google Play Store, and the drag-to-select feature should work normally again.
The fix means users can once again quickly select multiple photos and videos in their Google Photos library without having to tap each item individually.
