Google is adding a new feature to Google Drive called “Catch me up,” powered by its Gemini AI.
This tool gives you quick summaries of recent changes in your files, like edits made in Google Docs or comments added to other types of files. It’s designed to help you stay updated without having to check each file one by one.
The feature will show a shortcut in the Drive sidebar or a small icon on specific files. When you click it, you’ll see a summary of the changes or activity in those files. This is only available to users who have certain Google Workspace or Google AI plans. Google says it will start appearing for users over the next couple of weeks.

One thing to keep in mind is that the summaries are generated by AI, and Google includes a warning that the information might not always be accurate. So it’s a helpful tool, but it’s still a good idea to double-check important details.
