Taiwan’s Foxconn has launched its second-generation low-Earth orbit satellites as the electronics giant continues to expand its work in space technology.
The company said on Sunday that its PEARL-1A and PEARL-1B satellites were launched from California using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Both satellites successfully entered their planned orbits.
Foxconn said the satellites will carry out on-orbit missions for five years. Their main purpose is to test payload technologies related to communication and space science.
