Epic Games is making it easier for players to jump into Fortnite by allowing instant game demos directly within Discord.
The new feature, powered by Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service, gives users two 30-minute trial sessions per week — no installation required.
The trial is available until October 30th, with sessions refreshed every Tuesday at 9:59 AM ET, according to Epic’s announcement. To access the demo, users can click the sign-up link on Epic’s announcement page, which redirects them to Discord to start the session.
Currently, the feature is limited to PC players in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, and several European countries. However, some users in supported regions, including the UK, have reported needing a VPN connection to the US to launch the demo successfully.
Players don’t need to have Fortnite installed to try the trial version, but they must sign in to both their Epic Games and Discord accounts and connect them before playing.
Epic says it doesn’t share user data with Nvidia or Discord, though the companies may independently collect information during the trial.
