X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, was back online after a brief outage disrupted service for thousands of users in the United States on Sunday.
According to the outage tracking website Downdetector, more than 19,000 users reported issues during the disruption. The outage lasted for around 45 minutes and was largely resolved by 12:04 p.m. ET.
X did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the cause of the outage. Downdetector notes that its figures are based on user-submitted reports, meaning the actual number of affected users may be higher or lower than reported.
