Disney Plus is preparing to introduce a vertical video feed later this year, as announced during Disney’s Global Tech and Data Showcase for advertisers at CES 2026.

The new feature is designed to bring short, mobile-friendly videos into the Disney+ app, similar to the scrolling format popular on platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.

According to Disney Entertainment and ESPN EVP of Product Management Erin Teague, the vertical feed will include a mix of original short-form shows, repurposed social media clips, and edited scenes from Disney’s movies and TV series. Some content may be specially created for the format, while other clips will be adapted from existing long-form titles already available on the platform.

Speaking at the event, Teague said the goal is to bring all short-form Disney content into one unified experience. Over time, Disney plans to personalize the feed based on user interests, offering real-time updates across Sports, News, and Entertainment, refreshed depending on what viewers watched during their last visit.

Disney is not alone in exploring this format. Last year, the company added a vertical video section called “Verts” to the redesigned ESPN app. Netflix has also been testing a similar vertical video feed using clips from its movies and shows, signaling a broader shift by streaming platforms toward short-form, scrollable content to keep users engaged on mobile devices.
