OpenAI appears to be testing Gmail and Google Calendar integration within ChatGPT, aiming to enhance how users manage emails and schedules using AI.
Once rolled out, this feature could allow users to summarize emails, craft replies, create stories from emails, and generate calendar events—all directly from within ChatGPT.
Currently, Gmail integration exists under the Deep Research tool, but its functionality is limited to pulling email content into research reports rather than real-time summarization or direct interaction.
The discovery was shared by AI researcher Tibor on X (formerly Twitter), who spotted new references to Gmail and Calendar in ChatGPT’s interface, including a FAQ page hinting at Search feature integration. This suggests OpenAI might be blending its new ChatGPT Search experience with personal productivity tools like Gmail and Google Calendar.
If officially launched, this would mark a major step toward AI-powered personal organization, enabling users to manage communication and scheduling seamlessly in one place. An official announcement from OpenAI could be imminent.
