OpenAI has resolved an outage that caused problems with ChatGPT’s image generation and file uploads.

The company had been investigating elevated errors affecting image generation, while users were also reporting delays and failures when uploading files.

The issues affected ChatGPT’s image generation features and the Images API, with OpenAI reporting an increase in failed image-generation requests. Users also experienced problems processing uploaded files, with some files appearing to upload successfully but remaining unavailable while processing, while other uploads failed.

OpenAI said it was applying mitigation measures while investigating the problems. The latest status update now shows that the affected services have fully recovered. The image-generation issue was marked as recovered at 3:44 AM, while the file-upload issue was marked as recovered at 1:01 AM.
