Apple could introduce its first touchscreen MacBook Pro as early as October 27, alongside an updated iPad Mini, according to a new Bloomberg report.

The rumored launch would come just two weeks after Apple’s October 13 event, which is expected to focus on smart home products. The late-October presentation could include an online video announcement and an in-person event for members of the press.

The upcoming MacBook Pro models are reportedly set to feature OLED displays with touchscreen support, a lighter design, and an iPhone-inspired Dynamic Island interface. If the reports prove accurate, the move would mark a major change for Apple’s MacBook lineup, which has traditionally relied on keyboards, trackpads, and external touch input rather than touch-enabled displays.

Apple is also reportedly preparing MacBook Pro models that retain the current design but feature the company’s M6 chip. The chip was previously introduced with the new Mac Mini, according to the report.

Alongside the MacBook Pro refresh, Apple is expected to update the iPad Mini, which last received a major refresh in 2024. The new tablet could feature a front-facing camera repositioned along the landscape edge, making video calls more convenient when the device is used horizontally. A revamped speaker system is also reportedly planned.

Apple has not officially confirmed the reported MacBook Pro or iPad Mini announcements. The rumored October 27 launch date and the reported hardware features should therefore be treated as unconfirmed until the company makes an official announcement.
