Apple is finally making its Apple TV Plus app available for Android phones and tablets.
The rollout has already begun, though it might take a little while before it appears for everyone in the Google Play Store.
The Android app comes with all the essentials, including offline downloads and the ability to save shows to your watchlist. You can also subscribe to Apple TV Plus and MLS Season Pass using Google Play billing. However, there’s one limitation—you won’t be able to rent or buy movies and TV shows directly from the app.
Interestingly, Apple has made sure the app is optimized for foldable devices, which means users with phones like the Galaxy Z Fold should have a smooth experience.
Until now, Apple TV Plus was available on Android TV, but this marks the first time the app is accessible on regular Android smartphones and tablets. Besides Apple devices, you can already watch Apple TV Plus on various smart TVs and streaming devices, with a full list available on Apple’s website. Subscriptions currently cost $9.99 per month.
