Apple has become a $5 trillion company after its market capitalization closed above the milestone for the first time, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The company had crossed the $5 trillion mark during intraday trading on six previous occasions but failed to maintain that valuation by the market close. Its latest performance marks a significant milestone for the iPhone maker as it remains one of the world’s most valuable publicly traded companies.

Apple joins Nvidia, which also has a market capitalization exceeding $5 trillion. Nvidia first reached the milestone last year, driven by strong demand for its artificial intelligence chips and the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure.

The two companies’ valuations highlight the growing influence of major technology firms in global financial markets, with Apple benefiting from its consumer electronics ecosystem and Nvidia playing a central role in the AI boom.
