Amazon Web Services (AWS) is developing a new AI-powered tool called “Kiro” that can help write computer code quickly and efficiently.

According to a report by Business Insider, Kiro uses AI agents to understand prompts and existing data, allowing it to generate code in near real-time.

Kiro is expected to be available as both a web and desktop app. It will also be able to handle different types of input (known as multimodal capabilities) and can be set up to work with other AI tools. In addition to writing code, Kiro may also help create design documents, find bugs, and improve existing code.

Amazon already has an AI coding assistant called Q Developer, which works similarly to GitHub’s Copilot. The company reportedly planned to launch Kiro by the end of June, but those plans may have changed.
