xAI, the AI company founded by Elon Musk, has rolled out a powerful new feature called Grok Vision, giving its chatbot Grok the ability to “see” the world through your smartphone camera, similar to visual tools available in Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
With Grok Vision, users can point their iPhone camera at objects like products, signs, or documents and ask questions about what they’re seeing. The feature is now available on the Grok app for iOS, with Android support expected later.
In addition to Grok Vision, xAI is also launching several other features, including multilingual audio support and real-time search in voice mode. These are available to Android users who subscribe to SuperGrok, the company’s $30/month premium plan.
Grok has been evolving rapidly. Earlier this month, xAI introduced a memory feature that allows the chatbot to remember past conversations, as well as a canvas-like tool to help users create documents and apps within the Grok interface.
With these updates, xAI is positioning Grok as a serious competitor to other AI assistants, offering users powerful tools for both productivity and real-time interaction with the world around them.
