OpenAI is testing a new weekly limit of 3,000 messages for its GPT-5 Thinking model.
This is a big increase from the previous limit of 200 messages per week. The change aims to give users more time with the advanced reasoning abilities of GPT-5.
The company is also adding a visual indicator inside ChatGPT so users can easily see when the system is using the Thinking model. Many users had been confused about when GPT-5 Thinking was active, as the platform automatically switches between different models.
