China has launched the Shenzhou-12 manned spaceship from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China carrying three astronauts to China’s new space station ‘Tianhe’.
The launch of the Shenzhou-12 spacecraft took place at 9:22 AM local time on Thursday morning.
Three male astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo traveled into space for the construction of China’s space station, Tianhe, said Ji Qiming, assistant to the director of the CMSA, at a press conference held at the launch center.
They will stay on Tianhe for three months, bringing the space station online.
